Confused about how you should wear your red string Kabbalah bracelet?
Knowing how to wear a lucky red thread is important if you want to activate its full potential.
In this guide, we will answer which wrist should you wear your bracelet on and tackle other frequently asked questions about the red thread.
To start, let’s find out the different reasons for wearing the red string.
What Does Wearing a Kabbalah Wrist Jewelry Mean?
People wear a red Kabbalah wristlet on their wrists for various reasons. Below are some of the most popular
Religious Beliefs
Red strings could signify one’s religious beliefs. For instance, practitioners of Kabbalah (Jewish mystical interpretation of the Bible) wear a red string to show their faith in religion.
Aside from faith, Kabbalists would often wear the red thread to ward off the “evil eye,” a malicious stare that could harm its victims.
This is why the Red String Bracelet is also known as the Kabbalah bracelet.
To Attract Good Luck
Another possible reason why people wear the red circlet could be because they want to attract good luck into their life.
Wearing feng shui bracelets like the Kabbalah wristlet is popular in the Chinese tradition as it is believed to bring good luck and protection to its wearer.
To Find Their Soulmate
Ever heard of the “red string of fate”? It’s a practice that originated in Asian countries like China and Japan.
It is said that an invisible red thread connects us to our destined half regardless of place, time, and circumstances. This ancient belief is governed by the Chinese God of Marriage, Yue Lao, and is practiced until today.
Aside from the idea of meeting your soulmate, the said red thread circlet also connects us to people who will create a significant impact in our lives – this can be our parents, siblings, and/or friends.
Which Wrist Should I Wear a Red String On?
For those who believe that lucky red thread hold innate powers, such as in the feng shui tradition, there is a proper way of wearing the bracelet to activate its effects.
Wearing a red Kabbalah wrist jewelry on the left wrist means you are receiving the powers of the bracelet. This concept is part of the Kabbalist belief that the left part is the receptive side of the body.
Conversely, the right side is the giving side. Wearing the Kabbalah bracelet on the right wrist means you are giving away its powers.
However, feng shui beliefs also say that you should wear your bracelet on your non-dominant hand.
Since there are varying rules, we advise you to wear the red string on either your left hand or non-dominant hand – whatever your instinct tells you.
How Many Times Should I Tie the Kabbalah Thread Circlet?
You might have heard of the Kabbalist practice of tying the red string seven times to make it work.
This belief originated from the Bible story of the venerable mother figure, Rachel, who protected her sons from evil until death. Kabbalists would tie a red line jewelry around her tomb seven times and after untying, they would cut them into bracelet-length sizes to wear from protection.
This belief may not apply to red string bracelets of different purposes, say, a red string Piyao bracelet or a lucky Tibetan Buddhist bracelet.
If you’re not wearing the red thread Kabbalah bangle, then all you need to remember is to tie it on your receiving hand.
Can I Remove My Red String Bracelet?
Many cultures say that removing the red Kabbalah band will bring bad luck to its owner. This can be associated with lucky strings acting as protection bracelets.
When you wear a red lucky string, it keeps you safe from negative energies, misfortune, and evil forces. That's why if you remove it, you are taking off the protective “barrier” that the bracelet has created around you.
The same goes for cutting the red lucky circlet.
Legends say that the bracelet must fall off on its own. This signifies that the lucky thread has already absorbed too much negative energy or has already served its purpose. It could mean that you have already achieved your goals or are close to reaching them.

All my life i have struggled, been deep in a hole and i still feel the struggles and hardships and can’t seem to have any luck at all. I’ve started to research and came across some obsidian bracelets and also had called upon my guardian angel for help and to my surprise i was taken to the day of birth and found that i was born while dad was deployed. I think this is why i am more attached to my women on family and friends them i am with guys. Also my dad and sister passed and i was given an opportunity to feel their embrace and to let me know that they are okay. For years I’ve been depressed etc from death of dad and sister and while i was going through a medical discharge from military. I’ve been through so much it made me research. I’m glad i did and while i typed in search bar on the same exact thing i asked with obsidian and all of a sudden i see this link for red string out of the Bible and today i have it placed on and now i hope and pray this will help me fullfill everything i ever wanted out of life and hopefully more.
